Terms & Conditions
My name is Dr Joanna Jasiewicz, and I am a somatics-informed facilitator, educator, sociologist and yoga teacher. I support clients through 1-1 sessions, trainings and workshops in the area of race, racism, anti-racism, somatics, somatics-informed movement, social sciences and trauma-informed yoga.
This T&C is a contracting document for myself and my client when embarking on a professional relationship together. It includes the rights and responsibilities for both of us, and is mutually agreed in writing before we start to work together.
WHAT IS INCLUDED AND NOT INCLUDED IN THE FEES FOR MY SERVICES
Travel within 30 km of Cambridge is included in my fees. Travel beyond that radius is not, and I will add the cost of petrol, parking and/or train and taxi (only if absolutely necessary) to my fee.
If delivering work for you means that I will require accommodation (e.g., due to late finish or early start, or if work is to be carried out over two or more days), I will include this in my fee as well.
TRANSPARENCY ABOUT FEES AND PAYMENTS
Fees for my services are listed on this website under ‘Fees’. If you have any questions or concerns about the fees, please reach out to me.
1-1 sessions
The fees for any of the 1-1 sessions that I offer are payable at the point of booking (first session) or 72 hrs in advance (subsequent sessions) via BACS transfer in order to confirm the session.
Group sessions
The fees for group workshops, trainings and any group facilitation are payable at a mutually agreed time via BACS transfer.
——
For both 1-1 sessions and group sessions, once you have agreed to these T&Cs in writing (via dated email usually), you are fully responsible and liable for all payments.
I may also make recommendations for books, articles or podcasts, and if you decide to buy those items then you are responsible for covering those fees plus the charges for your own notebooks, pens, broadband, and other supplies etc.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
1-1 sessions
If I have to cancel a 1-1 session that you have already paid for due to illness or unexpected event or illness on my part then I will allocate your payment to your next session. If we both are unable to arrange an alternative suitable time/date then you will receive a full refund of your session fee.
If you cancel a 1-1 session without giving 72hrs notice then no refunds will be given. There are no refunds for 'no-shows' or forgetting the time/date of your sessions.
Group sessions
Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the scheduled workshop or session qualify for a full refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 14 days before the scheduled workshop or session. This takes into account that I prepare the materials and all content according to the brief well in advance of each session.
If I have to cancel or reschedule due to illness or unexpected event or illness on my part, clients will be offered a full refund or an option to reschedule at no additional cost.
YOUR RIGHTS AS A CLIENT
In all my work - including workshops, trainings, 1-1 sessions, and consultations with organisations and individuals - I commit to create spaces which are respectful and welcoming, and which honour diverse lived experiences, insights, perspectives and ways of being in the world. You have the right to hold me accountable to my values as outlined in my Accountability Statement.
You have the right to be fully informed about the nature, purpose, and potential risks associated with my services. I encourage you to ask questions and will do my best to provide clear and concise answers.
You have the right to be treated with respect and without discrimination. I am fully committed to ensuring fair and equitable treatment for all clients with appreciation of our complex and intersectional identities related to age, disability, ethnicity and race, religion and belief, gender, gender reassignment, being married or in civil partnership, sex, sexual orientation, and being pregnant.
I regularly gather feedback and encourage you to provide feedback on my services. You have the right to file a complaint and I’m committed to addressing it in a timely manner.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A CLIENT
Talking about race and racism and feeling your body can be difficult. Conversations about race, racism, anti-racism and somatics-informed work in general can trigger sometimes difficult feelings and emotions.
I commit to hold spaces that are welcoming, kind, supportive and compassionate, but ultimately please remember that it is your responsibility as client to be prepared to take part in work that can be perceived as ‘tough’ and/or challenging, and please be prepared to be gently challenged. While I will strive to support you in noticing and making sense of your feelings and emotions, you are responsible for your feelings, reactions and responses.
You are responsible for participating in the workshops or any other session that I lead in a way that respects the dignity of others.
I reserve the right to ask you to leave a workshop or any other session if I feel that you are not respecting the dignity of other participants.
You are responsible for your own actions and decisions following the workshops, 1-1 sessions or any other services I provide. The information and guidance offered during workshops, 1-1 sessions and any other services I provide are intended to assist and support you as my client, but you need to exercise your own judgment and discretion when applying any advice or techniques.
You have the right to cancel or reschedule sessions in accordance with the cancellation and rescheduling policy detailed in these Terms & Conditions. You may be eligible for a refund based on the terms of the cancellation policy.
CONFIDENTIALITY
I will not disclose your information to anyone without your explicit consent, or if legally obliged to do so. I have to report an act, or potential act, of treason or terrorism and a harm towards a child/minor/vulnerable person.
I take contact information from you via a contact form on this website when you get in touch with me, including your name and email address.
I use your email address only to contact you about session times, to reply to your email and to give session feedback or further information if needed.
Your information is not shared with any third party and I do not sell your details.
I gather as little information as possible. When you agree to work with me, you agree to let me reply to your emails and send you emails regarding our work. It also means, for 1-1 sessions, that you agree to let me use your emergency contact details (e.g., if you become ill in a session) and your phone number to reply to your texts or send you texts regarding session time changes, illness or diary amendments.
Please remember that communication via the internet or electronic storage is never 100% secure. While I do my very best to protect your personal information and I keep your data on my personal password-protected computer, I cannot guarantee its absolute security.
I learn important insights through delivering sessions and I might use anonymous and aggregated information from my sessions with clients to draw conclusions and develop course content, write course names, presentations, blog posts, podcasts, vlogs, worksheets, emails and any other work including art work and graphics produced under the working titles of ‘Move Rooted’ or produced by myself (Joanna Jasiewicz).
GUARANTEE OF OUTCOMES
While I'm fully committed to providing high-quality services and I believe this work can be impactful and transformative, I do not guarantee any specific outcomes or results from the use of my services.
The outcomes are influenced by many factors beyond my control, including client's commitment and willingness to embark on work that could be perceived as 'tough' and/or challenging.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Participation in my workshops, 1-1 sessions and any other services may involve physical or mental activities. These could involve gentle movement and reflecting upon issues that some people may find uncomfortable in the context of race, anti-racism and racism.
I disclaim any liability for any health issues that may arise (this includes mental health issues). Clients are advised to consult with a medical or mental health professional before engaging in activities that may impact their health.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
My intellectual property including but not limited to any/all course content, course name, presentations, blog posts, podcasts, vlogs, worksheets, emails and any other work including art work and graphics produced under the working titles of ‘Move Rooted’ or produced by myself (Joanna Jasiewicz) remain my intellectual property (of Joanna Jasiewicz) and are not to be used or shared for any other purpose without prior permission from Joanna Jasiewicz.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
I may need to periodically update these Terms and Conditions. I will post any changes on this page, indicating the date of the latest revision.
If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, please get in touch.
